Chinese control valves began from 1960s, and we could only produce 600 kinds of valves with 2700 specifications before 1980s. We lacked the ability of designing and manufacturing valves with high parameter and technology. In order to meet the requirement of high parameter and technology valves in the rapid growth of industrial and agricultural productions. Since the early 1980s, China started to adopt the ideal of self-development, introduction of technology to develop valves. Some of the key enterprises have increased their investment on technology research and development, and the introduction of valve technologies became very popular. At present, china can produce 12 kinds of valves, including gate valve, globe valve, throttle valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, diaphragm valve, plug valve, check valve, safety valve, reducing valve, drain valve and others with three thousand models and 40 thousand specifications.

Valve is one of the key equipment for fluid control system, which is applied to liquid or gas fluid control conditions. Now valve is mainly used in oil and gas, power, chemical engineering, tap water and sewage disposal, paper making, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, food, mining, non-ferrous metal, electronics industries. Among which, fields of oil and gas, energy and power, chemical engineering are the most important applications of valves.

According to statistics, oil and gas field take up the highest proportion which can reach 37.40% in global industrial valves market, including drilling exploitation, transportation and petrifaction. The second is energy and power, chemical engineering, which account for 21.30% and11.50%. The first three fields make up 70.20% of global market. And even in domestic industrial valve field, chemical engineering, energy and power, gas and oil industries are the main market for selling valves, which take up 60.50% of the whole market.

From the view of market demand, the demand for valves in water resources and hydropower, nuclear power, oil and gas industries is definitely going to increase.

Speaking the field of water resources and hydropower, The Action Plan of Energy Development Strategy issued by General Office of the State Council pointed out that the regular hydroelectric installation should reach 350million kilowatts by 2020. The increasing capacity of hydroelectric installation is going to require a great deal of valves, the continuous growth of hydroelectric installation will make industrial valves prosper.
